Maine native Gary Hoyle is a visual artist who has always worked at the interface between art and science. For 28 years he was an exhibits artist and Curator of Natural History at the Maine State Museum.
From 2008 to 2011 Gary was Artist in Residence at the Climate Change Institute, University of Maine. He has also twice been Artist in Residence at Acadia National Park.
Mr. Hoyle lives with his wife, Jeanne, and their two rag-doll cats, Emma and Olaf, on Swans Island, six miles off the coast of Maine.
